Ashleigh and Nicole Sykes (Canberra United and Australia)Ashleigh and Nicole started playing soccer at the age of 12 when they joined SASS in 2004. Before long their talent was recognised and the girls represented Dubbo and NSW in state and national competitions. While completing their HSC at Dubbo's Christian School in 2009, the girls juggled study commitments with playing for Canberra United in the W-League. Both have represented Australia at international level. They were jointly named Dubbo's 2010 Sportsperson of the Year. |

Adrian Leijer (Melbourne Victory and Australia)Adrian Leijer first played for SASS as a nine year old in 1995. He stayed with the club for five years before moving to Victoria. While with SASS, Adrian represented Western NSW and NSW Country at the state titles. He spent two years at the Victorian Institute of Sport and signed for the Melbourne Knights. He was later signed by Melbourne Victory and was the A-League's rookie of the year in 2007. From Melbourne, Adrian moved to the English Premier League team Fulham, before returning to Melbourne Victory for the 2009-10 season. He has represented Australia in the under-23s and made his full international debut in 2008. Ado was made Captain of Melbourne Victory in 2011. |
Beau Robinson (NSW Waratahs, Queensland Reds Super 14 Rugby and Australian Wallabies)While not pursuing soccer as his primary sport, Beau Robinson's soccer days in the 1990s contributed to his team spirit and sporting ability. As a SASS player from under-6s to under-13s, Beau was a team mate of Adrian Leijer for several years in Greg Markwick's SASS Purple side before he made the move to rugby. He began his professional career with the Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL and made his NSW Waratah rugby union super-14 debut in 2006. In 2009, Beau moved to Italy to further his rugby union career and returned to Australia to join the Queensland Reds in 2011. He made his debut for the Wallabies in July 2011. |
